Even though my children were born and raised in the United State, we would like to expose them to different cultures, especially Asian. I was born and raised in Thailand. Even though I have lived in the United State for more than half of my life, I still hold on to the most important values that Thai people hold which are respect, self-control, and a non-confrontational attitude.

Today, we went to the Asian Festival for the first time. The Asian Festival usually takes place at the Institute of Texan Cultures on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the end of the Chinese New Year.

Even though it was so cold and wet, there was a big crowd coming out and enjoying the festival.

There were so many foods and shopping booths from different Asian countries.  We had Korean and Chinese noodles for lunch. The performances by children from different Asian countries were also fun and interesting to watch. While we enjoyed the Bonsai exhibit, the kids enjoyed watching Japanese cartoons in San Japan room.

Next year, if you are interested in the Asian Festival, you can purchase tickets for Adults - $12.00 and Children (6-12) - $5.00 at the gate of the Institute of Texan Cultures.
